How did you start making bonnets?

I wrote a story about this very topic. Read more about it on the “The Story” tab. When you order your bonnet it is sent with a handwritten note about the design and fabric I used to start you off on your own unique story with your Kinderbonnet.

Are all your bonnets made from organic materials?

Most of the time. Some fabrics aren't organic if I found them vintage. I always use fabrics I know are of the highest quality. Especially when using vintage fabrics the bonnet created was unique and made only once or twice.

What is your sizing information?

All bonnets fit for at least 2 years and several seasons. When buying a bonnet please buy true to your child's current age. Then bonnets can fit up to 2-4 years likely longer.

When do you release new bonnets?

I am a very busy mama. A tremendous amount of thought and unique design flows into every bonnet I create. Thus I have decided to design and release them according to the seasons. Check my Fb account for updates on releases or contact me to create a custom bonnet for you or your child.

How about caring instructions?

Bonnets with lace trim should be hand-washed only. Bonnet using boiled wool fabric need to be hand-washed using a natural wool detergent. All other bonnets can be washed on gentle cycle with like colors. Pull into share and line dry.

Do you make all bonnets yourself?

I still sew all of them myself. I used to have the help of a local seamstress but since I now release according to season only all bonnets are made by me.

I use my free time, evening, hours, and some weekends to create. However, ideas about them occur daily during every day life with my and other children.

I want to know more about what you do, can I buy other items?

As a designer I strives to create a community by offering workshops in sewing, doll-making. and other topics of interest. We recently moved and have to get settled before I offer them again.

On Shipping and Returns:

What is your return/exchange policy?

All bonnets are custom made therefore returns and exchanges are not possible. Thank you for understanding.

Do you ship world-wide?

Yes I do. Our flat-rate shipping cost for international orders (which includes the United States) is Euro 7. Please understand that Kinderbonnets is not responsible for custom charges of your country.

How long will it take to receive my item?

Most bonnets are pre-sewn once posted for sale. Please allow up to three days for shipping and 1-3 business days for delivery within Germany and up to three weeks for international shipping (USA).

If you’ve placed a custom order please allow up to 14 days before your item is shipped. Custom orders require some E-mail conversation to determine your choice of fabric so please check back frequently.

What if my item doesn't arrive?

Kinderbonnet cannot be responsible for lost or stolen mail. Please check with your letter carrier or local post office. Contact us to see how I can help you.

Kinderbonnets and the Environment?

Our earth and our childrens future on this planet is highly important to me and our family. We recycle in our home and studio and use mostly FSC Certified paper products. I do not use plastic packaging for bonnets. I tend to use brown paper or parchment paper to wrap and please re-use this material or let your kids scribble a piece of art on it. I highly encourage you to reuse previously male envelopes as we practice this in our own home.
